A few months? No problem. I've had occassion to store cars several times and here's what I do. Keep in mind I'm pretty paranoid, you'd actually be just fine parking it and leaving it, maybe having to recharge the battery when you get back to start it.
-Bottle of gas stabilizer. It's not really needed for a few months, but I've had gas go bad enough to make a car run poorly after about 8 months, so better safe than sorry. Some people also like leaving a car with a full tank to minimize condensation.
-Change oil. Fresh oil won't have any acids to bother the bearings and what not.
-Fresh coolant and brake fluid. Overkill, but you should change these every two years anyway, and now is a great time if it hasn't been done recently
-Inflate tires to sidewall ratings to minimize the chance of flat spotting.
-Great chance to put down some leather conditioner to soak in.
-I give the car a good run to burn of condensation in the engine and exhaust, then pull the fuel pump fuse for a final shut off so there's no fuel sitting in the cylinders and injectors.
-Diconnect battery. And charge it up before restarting.
-Pest control - if you're somewhere that might have mice, do something about it, they love to wreck wiring harnesses.
That's all I can think of that I used to do. Do what you see fit, but parking a car for a few months shouldn't pose a problem at all.
