Sorry, let me clarify:
I get in the car in the morning to go to work (temperature 65-70F)
-I turn the key, the starter turns the engine, the car cranks with no hesitation.
I get in the car to come home from work (ambient temperature 90-95F)
-I turn the key, nothing happens. Sometimes I hear a slight click. Sometimes I don't. With each attempt, I see the voltage reading on my dash drop about 3 tenths of a volt. I hook up jumper cables, and the car will usually start. Occasionally it will not even with the cables.
I wait until the sun goes down, and the car will start repeatedly.
This has been my daily routine for about 2 weeks now.
I've replaced the battery twice. I charged the newest one last Saturday, and put it in the car in the middle of the afternoon. It would not start with a fully charged battery. So, I don't really suspect the alternator, but I'm not sure.
My theory is that it takes more current to start in warmer temperatures, but I don't have any idea why.
