Age sucks... for cars or people. I wonder what the average age of the 9K owners is on this board. Seems like an older group than some of the other BBs.

The youngest 9Ks are 10 years old, making them likely to be on their 3rd owners in many cases. And the average miles have to be getting up there, too. Well cared for, they do last a long time, but most people can't deal with the idea of maintenance on an older car, even though 9Ks aren't much different for that than most other vehicles. So they dump them and go on to something else. But perception of age and high maintenance drives a lot of stuff... that and the desire for something newer.

There are several 9Ks in my town, but then NH is Saab Country. Have been seeing a Citrin Beige one like mine a lot lately, and I always wave, but he doesn't respond. There are some nice ones here driven by people who don't seem to know they have something that's kinda cool.

I plan to keep mine a good while yet, but know it can't last forever. My '96 CSE is about to turn 150K and I drive about 12,500 miles a year. So in about four years I'll crack 200K. That's my goal for now. Hope my daughter's '95 CS (now at 155K) will go about the same (gets her out of college and working!)

There's nothing else like them, though. Amazing cars.
