SAAB hangers vs. Scantech Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Tue, 22 Jul 2008 07:22:54 In Reply to: Exhaust hangars wanted for extreme heat, Diamond Dave, Mon, 21 Jul 2008 13:17:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Where did you get your "stock" pieces? I have found that the genuine SAAB pieces are made of a rubber compound that lasts much longer than the Scantech replacements - I have actually replaced a stretched out, year or two old Scantech piece with the one it replaced (the SAAB piece that came with the car). I have since purchased additonal pieces from the dealer. Yes, they are 5 - 10 times more expensive, but there seems to be a difference in the material.
Something else to explore: people are selling polyurethane exhaust hangars on ebay - no experience with these.
