Hello All,
While I'm pretty well versed in the Classic 900, I just put on the road my 91 9000 Turbo. Bought the car from my Ex, and have done only minor maint. to it thus far (exhaust, brakes, alternator, HB end oil seal & O-ring. So far she is running well, but of course has a few issues as anything that age would have.
First, I just put new NITTO rubber all around after repairing the road rashed 16"rims. Fitted with 205/50/R16, old tires TOYO Proxes 4. When I removed them to remove tires & repair rims, I noticed the inside shoulders of the front tires were shaved (almost like a lathe), to the point where one of the tires had exposed steel belts.....same exact size. While I had the car up on jacks, turned the steering lock to lock to lock for the cutting point, but found nothing???? With the car down on the pavement, I can't see interference point. Certainly someone has seen this phenomenon....please enlighten me.
Next, the ex had a new headliner installed. The wiz shop broke on of the A pillars (pass) near the top, during removal I presume. Is there any source for these aftermarket? Of course I can look in the classifieds/eBay, but wondering if someone has come up with replacement parts wherein the plastic won't crumble after the years.
Otherwise, so far, so good....auto climate system makes some funny noises, but at least it is cooling in the 97F Atlanta heat.
thanks,
DET
