Hi Gene.
It has been replaced after a teardown and thorough interior cleaning and
inspection by my most talented and wonderful indie mechanic !
All now works (but the cruise needs switches adjusted...).
The car sat for a while because our deal was for him to do it as he could
make time for it, and in the meantime my '91 was a daily pleasure for me
to drive, so it was all good.
The funniest part of the whole thing happened when we went to move it and
I opened the hood to find I was being stared at with some hostility by a
small garter snake who had taken possession of the Aero in my absence !!!
He seemed to take exception to the engine running but when I got into the
console to clean up some leftover wiring from Quasi's attempted addition
of instruments I found a skin which that snake or his mate(s) must have
shed whilst guarding the car and keeping it safe for me - it was a fun
little thing to find.
I am still driving on clouds a few days later - there just ain't anything
better than driving a real Aero !!!
Best Wishes,
mark
