I had this problem with a '94 that had been in an accident and had the doors replaced. What I later found, after looking EVERYWHERE, was that the lock cylinder itself was the problem. Gunk had built up on the cylinder and there is a return spring that brings the lock back to an upright position. With the gunk, what would happen is that everything stuck together when locking and then stayed stuck together when the tab that moves the "locking portion" would return to center...this would in turn pull the locking portion back PAST center, unlocking the doors. I'm writing this like a lunatic so if you need clarification ask. I have noticed it on two cars since..usually because we always tell folk to lubricate the locking mechanisms on these cars and folks use the wrong stuff and too much of it.
