Saabnutt,
my 9K starts and will idle all day. but often when I step on the gas it stumbles and has no power, won't quit but barely runs. when it comes out of it, it runs perfect. I thought bad gas after putting a cleaner through it. first half of cleaner seemed to help, then six weeks later put in last half with full tank. buy all my fuel one place (Mobil)..no allegiance to that fuel, strictly the station. was accelerating hard with low fuel from that same tank, passing a dawdling cell talking Mercedes and my car started cutting out. pulled over, it idled. looked everywhere under hood could see nothing. while looking suddenly it picked up and ran smooth, so tried to make it home. still had the problem intermittently. so added fresh gas and dry gas from another station it seemed to help. so I kept adding fresh gas a couple of gallons at a time to top up the tank. then the car started running real good again.
then I got hit in the rear and a few days later the car started acting up again the same way. it will drive along fine then start stumbling.. like bad gas or like the timing isn't advancing though I don't know if that actually happens anymore. it's a 1989 non turbo.
meanwhile looking for new car in western Mass or over in NY state nearby. thanks for any advice. car has been maintained lots of new stuff recently.
