ABS pump may be culprit. Since initial posting have found that pump relay stays energized after car is turned off. Analyzed ABS schematic that was posted on Townsend site and am left confounded. I have an 88 Turbo9000 with MarkII Abs and the symptoms I have are not logically possible according to schematic. I have been dealing with the problem by pulling the pump relay fuse when parked for the night. Yesterday my brake fluid light stayed on and I eventually lost boost pressure after a number of stops. Saw that fluid reservoir was filled( accumulator empty) and heard no pump operating buzz. Could a failing pump have been the cause of the apparent short to ground causing the pump relay to stay energized? A short in wiring to the pump? I am still puzzled when I run these theories past the wiring schematic. Current situation: ABS pump not running and pump relay remains energized after car is turned off. Thanks everyone for weighing in on this.I love this site! It has kept me affordably roadworthy for more than a decade.
