What's SUPPOSED to happen in the scenario you're describing (throttle butterfly not in proper position) is that the ECU will detect that the butterfly and pedal sensors are out of synch, and sound the alarm, kill the fun, and empty your bank account. This is all translated into the heavy pedal and TCS CTRL light aglow. A resultant P0120 code will be recorded, as well as the code for "Throttle and Pedal signals out of range" or something to that effect.
But seeing as how I just got done insisting that someone else's recent fuel pump issue was in fact a TCS LHM with no trouble light (it wasn't that time) it's probably unwise to bet against you in this case, because THIS time it WILL be TCS.
By 2020 we should have figured out all the TCS bugs.
