I think the V6 was a marketing idea from the guru's at GM.
They believed the car HAD to have a V6 to apppeal to a broader spectrum of customers.
The usual Saab Nuts avoided those models at least from the people I've talked to.
I had friends in the used car business and insisted that a 4 cyl in a luxury car was a stupid idea.
Until they went out in a friends SPG or my 96 AERO!!!!!
