In general, an Aero is a much more desirable car than a CSE, even a '98 CSE. If folding the rear seat flat is important to you, it's very easy to find a rear seat from a CSE and install it in your Aero. You mentioned that there is very little difference in money between the two cars. For me, it would come down to this; which car looks like it has been better cared for/better maintained? I don't remember you saying anything about maintenance records. I would take a CSE with a full maintenance history or that was maintained by a reputable shop over an unknown Aero. Just my opinion. Of course a '97 Aero is preferable to a '98 CSE, all things being equal. But, after 11 or 12 years, all things are probably not equal. I would expect that an Aero was owned by an enthusiast, and was probably lavished with more TLC than a CSE. These cars are tough, and being driven as intended (run to red line occasionally, etc) is not a problem. In the driving conditions in most of the US, I don't see someone really 'driving the crap' out of a 9000, say in the way they could with a Geo Metro.
