9000's and Stalling...May Not Be What You Think...FYI

So my 91 S began cutting out as if I pulled the plug off the DI cassette and stuck it back on very quickly (actually you can't do that in the early 90 2.3's with DI because there is no quick-disconnect like the 93's and above). But anyway, I struggled with diagnosing the problem. I put in new resistor NGK plugs gapped at .9 mm to no avail. Then I went to the junkyard to get another DI cassette, pulling mine to take with me to match up. That's how I discovered the early plug problem. There were no early DI cassettes in the yard so I reinstalled my old one, went to drive off and the car just shut off and would not start. Long story short, I figured that since it stopped just as I had messed around with the cassette maybe there was a short. So I taped the wiring loom going to the DI cassette back about an inch just to move it into a different position. The car started right up and has been symptom-free for a week. I gotta get in their and find the short, obviously, but talk about getting lucky. No stuck car. No towing fee or missed work...whooohooo.
Hope this helps somebody,
Peace out,
Philip
