88 turbo input shaft seal job

Hello everyone,

After a few weeks of searching I found a very reasonable local mechanic who is willing to help with my leaking input shaft seal in my 88 9kt.

I couldn't find the seal itself online, so i purchased a genuine saab slave cylinder from germanautoparts.com and it supposedly comes with the input shaft seal as well.

I had previously replaced the output shaft seal... not too long ago, so hopefully it isn't that again.

The input shaft bearings are what my concern is about now.

If the bearings are bad will it just cause the seal to go again? how can i test them? how hard is it to just swap the bearing out?

are there 2 input shaft bearings, as in a front and a rear? or just one bearing?
