If buy chance the seal is pushed out when you separate the transmission from the engine, check the vent hole on the top rear of trans. housing. When this get plugged, the seal will get pushed out from it's seat from internal pressures. Depending on how long ago the main seal was done, you just might consider doing it again along with greasing the shaft bearing inside the flywheel.
