why use a pressure washer? Seems like overkill, and risky at best. High pressure water can get in to places water really isn't supposed to be.
I do the engine about once a year (if I think of it). I do it with a very slightly warm engine, douse it thoroughly with full strength Simple Green and let it sit for 10-15 mins. I hose it off with a garden hose with a multi-spray nozzle. I use a parts cleaning brush to deal with any bad spots. and I keep the water away from the electrical stuff as much as possible, or put plastic bags over critical stuff.
Just my $0.02 of course.
