I recently put in some NGK Iridiums because it was all the local mega-parts store had. At $7 a pop, needless to say I wasn't happy but I needed plugs so what was I to do. The car is a '95 Aero with a known leaking HG and 175K miles. I saw improvement in the idle and boost response after the plug change until yesterday. I have maybe 1000 miles on these plugs and it sounded like it was running on 3 cyls at startup. Smelled like gas for a bit, but after a min or so running leveled out and I took it on the road. Boosting past a few psi made the car run like crap again. I pulled the plugs and noticed that cyl 1&2 plugs were nice and tan, but cyl 3&4 were bright white. I have never seen this before and wonder if it's related to the HG in some way. With fresh NGK 7's it seems to be running fine, but I'm worried that something else might be going on. Anybody run into this before?
