Something easy - try unplugging your O2 sensor. If it's like an 95, on the PS side, unscrew the plastic by the wipers, trace the wire to make sure you have the right one and just unplug it. Then see what happens. If the computer receives NO signal from the O2 sensor, it should default to "acceptable" settings and run better than you've described. A faulty signal would cause the car to die, right at startup.
If it has no effect, you can rule out the O2 sensor as the problem.
Also, and this is a stretch, it COULD be something related to your crank sensor heating and not sending a signal. I doubt, it though, given the codes your car is throwing.
