I have 167K miles on my 5-speed '98 and plan to keep it till I can find an equivalent hatchback. What other car has its comfort, fuel economy, power, handling, and can be converted into a panel truck when necessary? I often carry a 16 foot canoe on the roof and tow a small sailboat with the built in receiver hitch. I sometimes drive my significant other's '06 9-5 but its just not quite the same.
Over the years I have replaced the fuel pump, ignition switch, shocks and struts, clutch hose, engine and transmission mounts, control arm bushings, belts, pulleys, wheel sensors, and BPCs but it has been worth it. The original clutch is hanging in there and the engine uses no detectable amount of oil.
If there is no rust and the engine and turbo checks out its probably a good deal. Be sure to check for rust in the shock towers. That is what did in my '94 CSE at 280K miles.
