Hi Eric AKA THE ICEMAN
Thanks for the help and fun note. I picked up an ignition module at pick and pull yesterday. It's simple to change so I'll try that. I ordered both the pre pump and normal fuel pump. Today the car ran fine then sputtered and seemed to be running out of gas. I pulled over for 5 seconds turned the car over and she ran fine for 20 min :-))
I like the creative ice technique. SMART. One of my hoses blew while in a remote area mountain biking. So I removed the bike tire, slit the tube, the radiator hose has a 3" gash. I wrapped the hose with my bike tube. Then wrapped a 1 " x 6' nylon strap to lash it. I used my two bike water bottles drove the car to a farm 12 miles away, filled her up with H 2/0 :-))
Once I was down surfing in Cape Hatteras NC with my buddies. I was 18 and had a old Volvo 142 with 300,000 Miles. The Clutch had a stamped steal clutch fork that bent. So we made a sign saying NO CLUTCH !! I drove the car 700 miles speed shifting and the guys would push with help of the starter at take off. I used the sign when we went through the toll Booth's and I would toss the change to the girls in the windows yelling I cant stop NO CLUTCH !!! I made it back with 4 guys in the car.
Sometimes being creative is a good thing.
Cheers mate.
Dave
