I'm not sure where ground G7 is located (I don't have the electrical manual), but the Trionic ECU ground is the braided cable attached to the ECU aluminum box - it screws into a point on the body at the end of this cable. The engine has at least two ground points, one up top with a wire that travels along the "dogbone" upper engine mount and the other on the side of the transmission.
