That's completely understandable. I think that it's barely making contact with the housing, as it looks a little off axis (after messing around a little more) I think I'll post a video eventually when I get time, but for right now I think I'm going to loosen the wastegate and basically bypass the turbo system. It seems like the best idea for now.
By excessive play do you mean you turn it for quite a ways before it activating the rod in the housing? There's enough oil that when I touch it with my finger my finger comes out pretty brown/black.
Thanks for the help, and sorry if my terminology sounds less than correct. I'm a kid who's learning this all on his own (no father/friend/family to teach me really),but I'm pretty good at taking stuff apart so I appreciate the understanding.
