My 2 cents is that you can't really go wrong with Nokian winter tires. I haven't bought new winter tires in a long time as they seem to get passed down from car to car.(A lot of siblings in my family) I used last winter and will be using again a set of studded Hakka 2's. I'm located in Vermont and for some reason when the snow is on the ground, I search out the tough stuff. The 9k will handle a lot! I can *SAFELY* drive down a snow covered road at 50 mph with no problems. Handles ice rather well, all in all great tires. Even with the tread wearing down, loosing almost half the studs by the end of last season...I still haven't noticed any significant change in traction. I'd buy Nokians again without much thought on anything else. That's not to say other tires aren't as good b/c as I stated before I haven't bought new ones in a while so I have nothing else to compare. I just like sticking to what I know. Hope that helps.
