Here is what was broken on the Aero I bought:
1. Stereo didn't work - fuse was blown behind it, but with fuse replaced CD player refused to eject CDs.
2. All speakers had deteriorated surrounds and had to be replaced.
3. Shift knob was loose preventing reverse-lockout from engaging and making shifting into 5th weird.
4. Passenger seatback wouldn't move up or down on one side (broken cable sheaths under the seat).
5. Car displayed Anti-Lock and SRS lights. I discovered after the sale that faults could not be cleared because the car wouldn't communicate through the green connector under the passenger seat. Still sorting that out, but the ABS system is reporting 7 different faults. Beware of warning lights - but make sure the all light up when you turn the key to make sure no one removed bulb to get rid of the light.
6. ACC fan only ran full-speed. The turned out to be a fried fanspeed controller (and a melted connector).
7. Smell of coolant meant heater core was leaking (replaced).
8. Coolant gauge ran high (replaced radiator, thermostat, hoses, and water pump since coolant was drained).
9. Torn boots on tie rod ends (replaced). Check ball joint and CV joint boots too.
10. Cabin temp sensor was loud and couldn't be quieted by cleaning (replaced).
11. Oil leaks (mostly taken care of by replacing main crank seal, oil pump o-ring, and valve cover gasket.
12. Exhaust leak (replaced flex pipe).
13. One door lock inop(replaced).
14. One window lift motor inop (came back to life after fiddling).
15. Washer fluid light (replaced valves) and capped lines to headlights.
16. Headlight wipers inop, one motor missing (eh!).
17. Cruise control inop (yanked out stuck button on clutch pedal switch).
18. Cracked PCV hose (replaced).
19. Broken nipple on air cleaner to compressor hose (replaced).
20. Numerous deteriorated vacuum hoses (replaced).
21. Broken off batter hold-down bolt (drilled out).

That's all that comes to mind at the moment. I didn't include purely cosmetic stuff like seat covers or dash panel - that will be obvious.

I would encourage you to check every single thing electrical to make sure it works. Also check the color of the coolant, oil, and power steering fluid. If any are really nasty, you will have an idea of what kind of maintenance it had.
