The inner driver cup stays in the transmission. Loosen the inner driver boot and pull the boot and the tripod bearing out of the cup (also referred to as the companion flange). Be prepared for liquefied bearing grease to drip all over. Remove the snap ring on the end of the shaft, and use a three jaw puller to pull off the tripod bearing. Carefully note how the tripod bearing fits on the shaft, because it will only fit correctly one way. Once the tripod bearing is off, you can slide off both the inner and outer driver boots.
Be careful not to bump off the outer roller on the tripod bearing. The needles rollers will fall out of the race, and it is a pain to find them and put the bearing back together.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that is more or less how it is done.
