It is an acid, and will promote rust on exposed steel/iron parts and eat through rubber and plastic.
Also I'm not really into flushing oil down the drain or onto the ground with a hose, although that is the easiest method.
Actually my Saab isn't thick with oily junk, just an oily haze on most underhood surfaces, parts, and hoses.
Maybe I'll try a little to see how it works.
