Earler 2.0l versions were my favourite 9K. Guigaro body design, Lighter weight, Gear ratios designed for performance not Fuel mileage.
Smoother running engines.
Cons are: Most ALL Saabs look great until their dying day or the point their owners refuse to spend any more $$ on it. The Air mass sensor Bosch fuel injection, Distributor ign. But that may not actually be a con as some Liked the Distributor's lo cost and 'modability'... I did :-)
The 5 spd (I had 3! rebuilds on my 5 spd 9k's during my tenure) and associated Clutch and Slave cylinder issues. Not complaining, just recounting.
As stated; it IS Older and as such will likely immediately need: New coolant hoses (all of them) A rad flush, New fluids all round. A very careful brake system inspection.. and possibly a new exhaust system, as Low use cars just eat exhaust systems.
Once sorted and brought back to more frequent use. It will likely please you.
