This one step could save you thousands.
You don't give ANY details about the car so there's no way to make specific comments. However, I'd recommend against a Traction Control (TCS) equipped car. Also, note that if you are looking at an Automatic Aero, it doesn't have the full output engine as the 5spd.
I'd always budget having a spare $1500 lying around after purchase to fix any issues that crop up. If you aren't able to perform the majority of the repairs yourself or if you don't have a respected Saab specific Independent service garage within about 30miles, I'd avoid the purchase altogether.
