Hello, all
My MPGs in the 2.3L n/a have taken an abrupt decline - where I cruised at 75 and got ~28, I now get 24; going up a hill at 75 would usually result in five MPG bars, but now I get three. I thought bad gas, but things haven't improved after 1000 miles of driving. New exhaust (minus the cat), no brake drag, alignment is the same, idle is steady, oil level is fine (though it's nearly due for a change), fuel filter was replaced about 2 years ago, o2 sensor about 14 months, car is relatively clean and nothing is hanging, trunk occupancy hasn't changed, acceleration is about the same. I don't see any reason to suspect dirty injectors, but maybe running a few bottles of Lucas might help? I'm going to check the plugs and air filter tomorrow, but is there anything else I should look for?
A couple of potentially confounding factors:
1. I just got new tires - the fronts were basically bald, the rear were fine
2. Ambient temperature is between 15 and 40 deg F (though it's been this way for a while)
