Lotsa history for that. I dislike Audis (owned 2) never again. Bmws ? Ditto Bought and waited 6 months for a '74 2002Tii ((first one on the coast according to BMW) Hated the underachieving thing and soon sold it. An 2800 cs was somewhat 'better' (prettier at least) but it dissolved in the rain. Unbelievably quickly (4 years old), only the engine hood kept the front end on.. astounding to see.
Office bought a brand new 540i as a staff car. It required a new PS and water pump within a month of delivery, then a New engine block !? within 6 months. The suspension 'clunked' with 4 people aboard.
Can we say: complete POS ?
Brother bought a 333ix? At one month of Life it Died (dead fuel pump) on the freeway en route to work (airline pilot) resulting in serious emplyoment consequences.. BMW said 'it's a thoroughbred you must expect these things'.. BS was his response.
IMO genuine "German Engineering Excellence" ended with the launch of the last V2... many decades ago. Caveat Emptor does apply.
