Torn PCV bushing lost in valve cover

Hi, I am new to 9000's. I recently bought a 98CSE that was not well maintained. I am going through the car and replacing obvious things.
One of the obvious things was the PCV bushing. The PCV nipple was very loose, so I removed the nipple and then pulled the bushing off.
When I did this the bushing tore, leaving a small ring just inside the valve cover. I tried to pull it out, but in doing so it moved somewhere inside the valve cover where I can not locate it.
My question is what are the possible negative impacts that this could have on the engine? Can this small piece migrate to some place where it could interfere with the operation of the valves? It is a very small piece, a circle the diameter of a new PCV bushing, and about 1/8 or so high.
Thanks in advance for any input you might have.
Ron
