Very long story - made very short. We were away for the day. Our '91 was sitting in a field behind the house. While we were away, there was a REALLY BAD thunderstorm, storm drain could not handle volume of water, water rose into the 9000. We did not know this when we got home at 10:30pm. Tried to start car, no start. Tried again in morning, no go, so into the local dealer it went.
Dealer replaced crank position sensor, fuel system ECU - still no start. Both units were damaged by attempted ignition starts. Replaced spark / boost pressure ECU with unit from another '91 9000-T w/auto tranny. Car then started, dealer put car back together, I test drove it. Performance was no where near what car would do before high water. There was no "pop" no thrill, when accerating, it drove like a normal aspirated 9000. So dealer modified position on waste gate, I took it for another test drive and car is now about 90-95% of pre-water invasion performances. I have another used - '93 9000-T spark / boost ECU being sent to me. Will do another change of this ECU and test drive to determine how this 2nd used unit performs / works in car.
Does anyone know of someone who can clean / test / repair the original ECU spark / boost curcuit boards - model #9108531. This unit caused car to fly like scalded witch and without those modifications to the waste gate. Would love to have it refurbished and reinstalled in car. Any other help or suggestions to getting this car back to pre-water performance levels ?
George
