The wonders of a 9K and a long road

Am just back from driving from NH to NM with my daughter (including a 2-day detour to Utah) in my '96 9K semi-Aero. Left the beast there with my daughter who's working there for 7 months.
6+ days in a car tells you a lot about how well it works. We had everything from gorgeous weather to 98 degree heat to violent thunderstorms and hail. We drove arrow-straight interstates, mountain passes, unpaved roads in Monument Valley and Valley of the Gods, and empty 2-lane blacktops across the high desert. Starting at 425 feet above sea level we hit over 10,500 at the Continental Divide and wound up over a mile high in northwest New Mexico.
And except for the PS pump dying near Indy, the car was flawless. (hats off to Road Tested Saabs for getting back on the road in short order). It was solid, stable and comfortable for days that added as much as 650 miles to the clock. With the back seat down and all our stuff filling the space between the front seats and the hatch, we were fully loaded.
We ran premium all the time and had plenty of opportunities to enjoy the punch of the turbo, especially as the altitude increased. The car was simply amazing: Effortless power, smooth ride, great handling on the mountain roads, and fuel economy in the upper 20s even though we spent lots of time running 75-85 mph.
There is nothing quite like a Saab 9000.
