if you want to check for a clogged cat, spend $9 and buy a diagnostic vacuum guage, run the engine up to about 3000RPM and observe the needle. If it starts to slowly decline, your cat is probably clogged. I say probably because normally on a n/a car, that would be the case since there's nothing else downstream that could really clog the exhaust. However, your car has a turbo and a slow difficult to turn turbo (difficult for the engine) can cause the same test result. Use the accompanying diagnostic chart for a better description. Also, take a look at your exhaust pipe and if it's sooty, then you can pretty much bet your cat is restrictive, regardless. If you use mineral oil, the slow build up of carbon under the turbo's piston ring can make the turbo turn slower, yet when you check the turbo for play, it can still feel tight and look good. If you can hear the turbo spool up, that could be a sign as well. Whatever the case, it's been my experience that a new turbo usually fixes this type of problem. HTH
