What is the temperature of the air coming out of the center vent? it should be 40 to 45 degrees, and remain fairly steady, only moving only a couple degrees.
Check the compressor clutch, it may not engage when it gets hot. If the front radiator fan is on and the compressor is not turning, tap the non rotating part of the clutch with a screwdriver handle to see if it will engage with a little help.
The anti frost switch usually fails by not turning off the compressor and allowing the evaporator to freeze, or not turning the clutch on. It is under the aquarium, in a 2x3" box on top of the evaporator housing. Its set temperature is adjustable via a small torex screw on the left (drivers) side. Don't mess with this without measuring the outlet temperature.
I recently replaced an expansion valve that was sticky, causing the hi and low pressures to be erratic.
