when it comes to removing broken off studs. But when you look at the angle involved, that requires some pretty precise work, and having the right tools and skills, it's a bench job.
That said, I'd wait it out. And if it comes to pulling the head on high mileage car to do the job, well, sometimes you have to bite the bullet.
Other thought: If a couple studs are gone, more may follow. What would it cost for the labor to drill each one and replace other parts that break along the way, versus having it done in a machine shop and getting a new head gasket to boot?
