Whenever I've removed a saab belt pulley, I consider it for a bearing repack. If it looks ok and spins acceptably (no grittiness to the bearings, pulley surface still smooth and ungrooved). I pry off the rubber bearing seals, wash out the exposed bearing race, carefully dry it, then repack with moly grease, pop the seals back on and it's good to go for several more years. This has worked well for me.
Tensioner gets a thorough clean out then a refill with Mobil 1 ATF (it's a truly excellent shock absorber fluid)
This has worked well for me.
