Howdy neighbor! I had trouble removing the airbag so I left it in place. Their are three screws holding the servo motor mounting plate in place. The one closest to the firewall was a little tough to get to. The other two weren't bad but my hands are small. My servos would make a clicking sound every few seconds trying to move the flap. It was kinda like a short buzzing sound from inside the dash. It's probably programmed to be a step-and-wait function though I'm not sure. Be careful that you get the cable hooked up properly to the servo motor arm. The first time I put it back together I forgot to hook the cable to the arm and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't seat correctly. Duh, the cable was behind it! If you need more room you can probably do a search on PS airbag removal and find the procedure on this forum. I didn't search it out and just gave up and worked around it. If you remove the servo motor mounting plate, the duct-mounted air termperature sensor comes out with it. Don't break the wires. It just slides out of its hole in the ductwork and goes with the servo motors. I think I had to get at this stuff from the fuse panel area. I pulled out some air ducts and stuff to make room. In hindsight, it might have been much easier if I'd taken the airbag out. I also had the dash top off, which entails removing the A-pillar trim (without breaking it) and freeing it from the windshield replacement sealant. Thanks for reviving that nightmare. ;-)
