Can you actually see the newer style coupler coming apart when it's gone bad? The old rectangular couplers, you could just look at while someone else shifted through the gears and see that it was broken. Is the same true with the newer style?
I couldn't see that this one was broken, but it felt like, from the shift pattern, that I wasn't making it into the right gears.
