Mr. Bubble is right to remind you that the chains aren't a hardcore necessity, although I respect your idea to do it now owing to the mileage.
The reason to consider skipping the chains is that the timing cover has to be removed in addition to the head, which is makes for a more involved repair.
If you do decide to replace the chains, there should be no reason to replace the oil pump, which is a very durable part. Perhaps you mean you simply plan to replace the oil pump o-ring (and front seal)? If so, great idea.
