Yes, I know the history of the job. :-)
At this point I figure the best thing to do is the same as I did on the C900, no patchwork fixes, replace all the "soft" parts (hoses, drier, O-rings, valve) and flush the system out, starting fresh; do it once and just get it over with. I did that back in 2002 on my other Saab's AC and have not had to touch it since.
I did have a bad brand-new expansion valve out of the box on the 900 and really don't know that the chances are of that having happened again. If after doing all this work there is still no joy I'll revisit that, but I want to get the entire system into a "known state" now instead of continuing the guessing game.
