Biggest obstacle is that our Saabs have (Unless Bought new ) been had for a small fraction of their purchase prices. The important bit.. that.
Cuz frankly at the price point of a brand new Competitor .. Saabs are an ermm poor choice/noncompetitive... witness the resultant financial state of the Marque.
Simply not going to find a decent/worth owning car for used Saab pricings of yore.
Tl is a nice car, well worth having, wife's certainly is.
G37 is an even nicer machine.. except for their designed in 'tinny' exhaust sound :-).
Both cost North of $40k though.
Elder Son finally overcame his Saab fixations, losing his crappy example Aero and bought a current Accord V6. Far quicker and more capable than his Aero ever was. Seats aren't as good is the only genuine criticism I can muster.
An Accord, when equipped similar to a TL, is not that much less coin however.
Friends have BMW 330 xi's.. the ones with the folding metal roof and the $80+ K price tags. Very nice cars, V fast cars as well. But experience with the legendary BMW build 'quality' (their 3rd new BMW's) prompted them to buy the extra 3 year warantee (pricey add on) with full intention to be rid of the things (yes, they have a matched pair of this model) at the first signs of serious trouble/inconvenience.
See? it's a tough choice indeed.
Most 'good uns' are not inexpensive, like used Saabs were. Far simpler IF one has the werewithal to simply write a cheque for a New machine though.
