I discovered that my '97 CSE has a leaking transmission cooler line. Fortunately the transmission does not seem to have been damaged, at least it is still shifting properly and not making bad noises. What alerted me was that transmission fluid started spraying on the turbocharger and making lots of smoke!

Searching through the board here what confuses me is that there are references to a transmission thermostat housing with several cooler lines involved. My car has just two lines running directly to banjo fittings on the front and back of the transmission. Was the thermostat discontinued on the later models? Or is this an aftermarket setup? (The lines look factory, not cobbled together.)

Unfortunately the leak is in the metal line itself so I can't just replace the rubber hose. The usual online sources I check for Saab parts don't show any replacements. Is this part available only at dealers or junkyards?
