I had the same issue with my oil cooler hoses, but you don't need a hydraulic shop for them. You can just cut off the crimping and use a quality high temp and oil rated hose with hose clamps (a couple on each end). There isn't enough pressure here to need hydraulic or reinforced line, and good aftermarket hose will last longer than the original in my opinion. It saves some time and money, and keeps your car on the road. To me, where the fittings screw into the oil cooler looks a little light on metal, and I'd worry about damaging the cooler getting the fittings out anyway after 20 years, and just using the new hose and hose clamps mean you don't have to mess with this.
For JerseySaab's issue, used metal might be a good option if dealer costs aren't reasonable since you don't hear about the metal line going bad often. A hydraulic shop can indeed do a good job rebuilding the rubber part of high pressure lines using the original fitting. I have a rebuilt line for the clutch and I trust it much more than an OEM line to last the life of the car.
By the way, if you're having a hard time finding a hydraulic shop, many machine shops have the facilities to do this as well.
