its been a while since i ve been on the board - i guess its a result of having gone through enough issues with the 9000 that most of the stuff i already know :) plus its been really good to me, no serious issues.
But now i need your help : i bought a blown-head gasket auto CSE (96) and worked through it, everything went fine ran for a good stretch of highway and then the CPS went out - new sensor installed and problem fixed.
Drove it around for 10 miles or so and while on the highway - started losing power - and made some strange rotational grinding noises. A few seconds later stalled. Starter would slowly turn over but killed the battery within 15-30 seconds. Starter was earlier checked for excessive current draw and it pulled around 270 amps so i suspected the high temp made it worse.
Towed it home, a couple of weeks later - today - started it, ran fine but with a strange thumping and occasional metal grinding noises(torque converter??). I looked around for the source and it is definitely the engine, transmission or starter - somewhere there where they all meet. Maybe.
ten minutes later engine stalled - and starter could not turn it over.
How could i diagnose the issue?
sorry for the long message :(
