I'm not climbing under mine to look but I kind of remember long bolts or threaded rods I think with a hook end at top coming out of a well-undercoated and sound part of the car body. The threads on that bolt can look like heck.
If you are taking yours out, cut straps off at bolts, then once it's down if the bolts will come off the body, tap em, bang em, wire brush them hard on a wheel, or if you have access to a set of torches, heat till glowing and drop into a pan of oil. An ignitable white cloud of oil vapor will rise, then once it's cool fish out of the oil and the nut should be free and the rust crumbling away. May need to repeat.
The threads will probably still be okay, though a little looser.
A MAPP torch might work too but won't heat the whole thing in one try.
Or grind nut off and clean up the threads with a die.
Replace the nuts with ones from hardware store.
