In my experiences with pedal assembly removals, I found that the return springs on the clutch pedal were ALL weak, as in only strong enough to return the pedal. Unless the pedal bearings are worn so much as to somehow bind? (unlikely.. but check the pedal for side to side rocking using your hand) yer looking at the wrong end of the system. Having said that, a tiny difference in the location of the clutch pedal pivot versus Master Cyl clevis pin (leverage fulcrum) WILL make a massive pedal feel difference.
Dunno how there would be any changes from year to year models though.
As I've found my/these parts to be directly interchangeable.
But it's passably easy(?) enough to remove the clevis pin from the clutch master cyl and check this for yourself.. anything is possible it seems.
Unless a hydraulic issue or a rusted up input shaft spline impeding clutch disc sliding.. again unlikely, It's down to the Pressure plate.
These are NOT made equal.. with significant variance as to maker.
Bit tougher to change out though
