Siezure from oil loss ? Crank case pressure loss (there shouldn't be any)is an improbable cause
Possibly a Major air leak into the intake ?
Do a comp test and take an oil pressure reading off a main Gallery ?
Oil viscosity ratings 'should' govern, regardless of oil type.
API is aggressive with compliance enforcement.
Sometimes the lifters take up to 3/4 hour to pump up again, or they may have been damaged. EEuro (under Todd's watch ) sold an 8 lifter set (oem brand) for $24. Bought a couple of sets myself :-)
Dunno if that avenue currently exists now though.
