In all the erratic behavior there are clues. It takes a while to sort them out.

One certainty is that the controller commands all 5 actuators by means of the brown/white wire at controller pin 7 and the violet wire at pin 8. Depending on the direction of the electrical current through these two wires, the actuators either lock or unlock. By "5" actuators I mean the four door locks and the gas filler lock. The hatch actuator is completely independent of the door lock actuators.

Consider what happened at the gym. You turned the key to the lock position. The driver door microswitch sent a signal to the controller, and the controller responded by locking everything. The microswitch functioned correctly. The controller did its job. All of the actuators worked.

Then after working out you turn the key to the unlock position, and only the driver door unlocked. The driver door unlocked because its lock is linked mechanically to the lock mechanism that is turned by the key. But either the microswitch failed to send an unlock signal to the controller, or the controller failed to respond to the unlock signal from the microswitch.

I recommend you test the driver's door microswitch, which you can do without removing the handle.

Keep in mind also that after you operate the locks several times in rapid succession the system will stop responding to prevent components from overheating. That is normal behavior. Don't let it fool you into thinking that a lock switch works some of the time but not all of the time.
