Higher charging rate last week was because battery was at a lower state of charge. After you charged it the charging rate dropped slightly to 13.4 - 13.7 which is a normal range. This also tells me your voltage regulator is OK.
My EDU usually reads 11.0 - 11.5 volts right after starting. My guess is that your battery is dying. This has all the indications of a failing cell.
I would take another battery from one of your other cars that is fully charged and briefly install it. Try starting the car and see what the end voltage reads. If it reads something around 11 volts then you know the EDU is somewhat accurate and that your battery is near its end.
While I do not want to get into a discussion about battery brands, I would say that the Optima battery is an unnecessary cost. They do not last longer. They tend to be more vibration resistant, but that is more for offroad or racing. I have always had battery life of 4-7 years from standard batteries.
I use a 78 series battery in my wifes 94 9000CS non-turbo. Fits fine, is a common size so it's cheap, and they are all huge cranking amps in this size.
